So Much to be Thankful for...
Week of November 21st
Room 22
This was a very busy week in room 22! We loved having parents come in to help us create shelters for our turkeys! It was so much fun to build and practice STEM with parents. Thank you to all the parents who were able to attend! On Friday, students shared their One to the World habitat presentations with Mr. Lyons and members of the PTO. I was so proud of each and every student for sharing their ideas that they have proposed to help make our school campus a better habitat for forest animals. Each student did such a fabulous job describing their animal's need and working as a team to help explain how to make our school a better habitat.
During this past week, we really focused on the basics of double digit addition with and without regrouping. We used a lot of visuals to help us see why we have to regroup when we are adding. This upcoming week is a short week; please email the front office or me directly to let the school know of any absences before the Thanksgiving holiday.
Ways to extend learning at home:
*Ask your child to complete double digit problems with regrouping Ex: 36 56 + 44 +29
*Have your child explain why a map is important *Ask your child to share one thing that they are thankful for- they can describe this thing/person using words or pictures
*Have your child identify the continents and oceans
