Final Thoughts

Week of June 5th

Room 22

Wow, can you believe this is your child's very last week in 2nd grade? It has been such a pleasure to serve as each and every one of your second grader's teacher. Over the last year, I have seen and and every student make such great academic and social progress.

Even though it is our last week, we do still have some big events this week. We will have our Measurement Assessment on Tuesday and our Plants test on Wednesday. These will be our last tests for the year. Thursday will be our end of the year grade level party. Please send in any additional party donations on Monday so we can prepare for the party.

This week students will also be completing our last writing unit where they create their own fractured fairy tale. Students have been reading different versions of the 3 little pigs and are applying knowledge of story elements to create their own unique version.

Ways to extend learning at home:

*Ask your child to share some of their summer reading goals *Ask your child to describe the characters in their fairy tale writing story

*Ask your child to explain how we measure the weight of liquids and solids

Looking Ahead
