March 13th
Week of March 13th
Room 22
Even with these freezing temperatures, I hope that your family remembered to spring an hour ahead this weekend! This week, we will be learning about the 3 states of matter- solids, liquids, and gases.
In math, we will finish our study of 3D shapes and discuss symmetry. There is a lot of vocabulary associated with 3D shapes. Please review the study guide at home with your child. We will be testing by the end of this week or early next week.
In language arts, we are working on reading and creating our own poems! We are still collecting money for poetry books. We are using the money from our poetry books to give books to students in need in our community. Please continue to consider donating to receive a published copy of our 2nd grade poems and help out students in need.
Ways to extend learning at home:
*Ask your child to compare and contrast a sphere and a cylinder *Ask your child to look for alliteration (repeated beginning sounds) in books they read at home
*Ask your child to create a list of things that are liquids
