March Madness
Week of March 27th
Room 22
Thank you so much to all the families who came out and supported our school at the Staff Basketball Game! Students will finish up our study of matter on Wednesday and we will begin our study of communities!
Last week, we began our study of communities by researching urban, suburban, and rural communities using our library resources and iPads. This week we began learning about communities using google classroom. We will use our knowledge to identify how our community has changed over time!
*We also filled up our class bucket- students chose to have a pokemon/fluffy friend day tomorrow! Students may bring in a fluffy friend or pokemon cards to use at recess tomorrow March 28th.
In math, we will continue our study of fractions. We will start with lots of hands-on practice creating and dividing shapes into equal parts. This week we will begin writing fractions for groups of objects.
In language arts, we are working on editing our own poems! . We will be using the book fair to help us collect book donations for needy students in our county. Please come to family night on Tuesday to support our book drive!
Ways to extend learning at home:
*Ask your child to identify fractions in recipes or other places around your home *Ask your child to retell the important parts of the story they read at home
