April Showers...
Week of April 3rd
Room 22
Can you believe we are already closing in on our last week before spring break?
When we return on April 17th, it will be the start of the 4th quarter! *Please let me and the front office know if your student will not be at school this week, we will be sending our final poems to the publishers this week.
This week we will combine learning of communities, fractions, and addition to create our own blueprints of communities! This will be a project that we will work on throughout this week.
In math, we will start comparing fractions. We will use visual models and continue to identify fractions in class. Look out for photos of our fraction pizzas later this week!
In language arts, we are finally publishing our poems! Thank you to the families who donated money or books to our book drive. We will be creating our final copies and illustrations this week. In reading, we will begin identify the important parts or main ideas of stories.
Ways to extend learning at home:
*Ask your child to create fractions for a set of mixed objects (ex: a set of legos where 4/10 are red) *Ask your child to retell the important parts of the story they read at home
*Ask your child to describe the difference between suburban and urban communities
